How to connect a MetaMask account

How to install MetaMask

MetaMask is a free and secure browser extension that allows web applications to read and interact with the Ethereum blockchain.

Step 1. Install MetaMask on your browser.

1. Go to MetaMask.io and select either the Android or iOS for mobile application and download it. You can also install MetaMask for Chrome, Firefox, Brave and Opera browsers.

2. Click on ‘GET CHROME EXTENSION’ to install MetaMask as a Google Chrome extension.

3. Click on ‘ADD TO CHROME’.

4. Click on ‘Add Extension’.

That’s it! You have successfully installed the MetaMask extension!

Step 2. Create an account

The next step is to create an account.

1. Click on the MetaMask icon in the upper right corner to open the extension.

2. To install the latest version of MetaMask, click on ‘Try it now’.

3. Click on ‘Continue .

4. You will be asked to create a new password. Create a strong password and click on ‘Create’.

Don’t forget to store your password for safekeeping!

5. Proceed by clicking on ‘Next’, then accept the Terms of Use.

6. Click on “CLICK HERE TO REVEAL SECRET WORDS’.

7. You will see the 12-word seed phrase. It is important that you save the seed words, either as a file or copy them to a safe place and click on ‘Next’.

Security tips: Write this phrase on a piece of paper and store it in a secure location. If you want even more security, write it down on 2-3 pieces of paper and store each in a different location. Memorize this phrase.

8. Verify your secret phrase by selecting the previously generated phrase. When done, click on ‘Confirm’.

By completing this “puzzle”, you are confirming that you know your secret phrase.
